Metal Profibus Connectors

Posted in: Product News on February 14th, 2011

imageA common complaint about Profibus Sub-D connectors is the fact that after a few years, the plastic body of the connector begins to deteriorate and the plug fails as a result.  In order to combat this, Weidmuller has released a new line of full metal bodied Profibus connectors designed to outperform and outlast plastic alternatives.

Another advantage of using a metal bodied connector is that the connection is fully shielded.

There a a number of variants available, these include connectors with and without piggy-backed programming ports and/or terminating resistors.
